Easy to use! SOPA's architect has a doctorate in Behavior Analysis, and has spent many years applying
lessons from "software human factors" to the software development process.
Aligned with Values Based Safety® Dr. Terry McSween, author of
The Values-Based Safety Process: Improving Your Safety Culture with a Behavioral Approach, has been our consultant during all phases of design.
Multilingual SOPA can be delivered in practically any language, following a short translation process. We currently have versions in Spanish and Portuguese,
but more can easily be added, including those that read from right to left.
Chart and Data SelectionThe new Chart and Data Selection screen
makes it easier than ever to pick out the right chart and set Optional Selectors to focus on one
of the demographic aspects of the SOPA observation process. The C&DS screen opens a new Chart Window,
which gives us more room to present your information.
ExplanationsThe novice SOPA user can turn explanations on or off
so that there is explanatory text (in any language) for almost every page in SOPA.
Guest Observers Support for observers from one business unit who perform
observations at another business unit. The observation itself "belongs" where it was made, but credit for
the observation follows the observer.
Full set of charts and reportsThere are currently over 30 charts/reports available
in 10 chart/report "families", with more being added all the time.
Export to ExcelWant to create your own custom charts? SOPA now
creates an export file of the x and y values, plus identifying information, for all charts.
Individual recognition You can set recognition events for the number of consecutive months
at or above a criterion number of observations, and a report will show who has qualified for one of several
recognition events. It even takes into account vacation time!
Action itemsNow, you can tag the comments made by observers
and pick out those that are actionable. The safety steering committee can turn these into action items
and track their progress.
FlexibilityWe can uses aliases for our standard terms
to model your organization in four separate levels.
